A Classic Look At New Orleans Dining

New Orleans is regarded worldwide for its cuisine. The French Quarter is home to the three classic, old-line New Orleans restaurants: Antoine's, Galatoire's and Arnaud's. When you eat at one of these restaurants, you're not only getting a great meal, you're experiencing a part of New Orleans culinary history.

Arnaud's
Antoine's, 713 Rue St Louis, was established in 1840 and is the oldest family-run restaurant in the United States. Oysters Rockefeller was created here and is highly recommended. Galatoire's has been around since 1905 and is located at 209 Rue Bourbon. Crabmeat Sardou is one of their many specialties. The newest of these three restaurants is Arnaud's, a mere 94 years old. Shrimp Arnaud is their signature appetizer. Experience Arnaud's at 813 Rue Bienville.

Be sure to check out their websites for their hours of operation, reservations, and dress codes. Hint: If you decide to go to Galatoire's, to get the true New Orleans experience, you really want to eat in the downstairs dining room. Get there about an hour before you want to dine, as they only take reservations for their upstairs dining area.
